The E.G. Kurtz & Son Funeral Home, P.A., was founded in 1844 by Martin Kurtz, a cabinetmaker, who came from Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania to Jarrettsville. The E.G. Kurtz & Son Funeral Home, P.A. is in the sixth generation of the Kurtz family. M. Gladden Kurtz, III and Benjamin W. Kurtz and Ben's daughter Tiffany L. Edwards (nee Kurtz), own and operate the business today.
